Surprisingly enough, the One Last Cast Podcast was born at a bar in 2020. Merriel Solesky invited Jonathan Hua onto a livestream to talk fishing at Jackies Brickhouse in Kemah, Texas. It was, to say the least, an interesting experience. However, it was interesting enough for both of them to put their heads together and create a podcast focused on helping people get out there and have an amazing time on the water.

As a son of a shrimper, and born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Merriel Solesky has a deep connection to the coastal lifestyle. While he loves leading guided kayak trips up and down the coast, his passion lies in teaching others about kayak fishing and introducing newcomers to the sport.
